EME SAFETY JAMBOREE

In April, EME held our 2nd annual Safety Day with all of Team EME attending.

Tom Vincent from the EPA and Susan Baldwin from MIOSHA graciously agreed to be key speakers.

Susan Baldwin with class

Tom Vincent and Sue Baldwin both held PowerPoint presentations on items associated with a MIOSHA inspection and a DEQ site review, along with outlining work safe practices.  There was a question and answer period for our Team which everyone found very informational.  Scissor Lift

United Rentals of Taylor was another key speaker, demonstrating to Team EME the importance of safety techniques using a scissor lift. During the demonstration, our workers were able to use and drive the scissor lift.  It enabled them to bring the experience over to using lifts in the field for upcoming projects.

To carry on the theme, we watched  safety videos on slips and falls, hand safety and eye protection followed by a break for lunch, pizza and salad.

To wrap up the Safety Jamboree, our team played "EME Jeopardy", created by Diane Watson and hosted by Don DeRoo. Based on the popular television show, our questions and answers were based on safety.  Along with having fun, EME Jeopardy allowed us to see what our field workers knew and we have to brag, they knew their stuff!

Check out our web based EME Jeopardy game on our website to see how you score!  It is fun and in the process you can see how much safety knowledge you possess.
